I love the plate/dish . It is unique and I can just imagine Taylor sitting next to a potter's wheel and sculpting away, his fingers molding with precision and the paints flying onto the kiln hardened finished product. OK maybe NOT !!!! |

When Taylor's tour hit the Kansas City Ameristar Casino in April of 2007, 5 KOPS members met there and attended the concert together. Arrangements had been made to have Taylor autograph some items for Kid One. Since the tour added another concert date on Thursday, a couple of us were able to attend, allowing Taylor another day to get our things signed. The items were passed off to the designated crew member before the concert started and were to be picked up after the performance on Friday. The remaining KOPS members arrived on Friday morning and we checked out the sites and hit the casino shops. We found a guitar shaped music box with an image of Elvis painted on the front. It had such a great similarity to Taylor that we knew the Soul Patrol would love it! We had to get it signed as well! There were a few more T-shirts and photos to add to the second batch of goodies so we put them all together in a clear bag and gave it to Bill Will for Taylor to sign. We were told where to meet after the show to pick up both sets of collectibles. The show was great and after we screamed and cheered all we could, we watched for our "stuff" to be returned. As the precious bag of treasures was given to us, we quickly took inventory of the items and were thrilled at seeing all the new Taylor Hicks swoops on each thing....but, something was missing! Where was the prized guitar shaped music box? We dashed out to find Mr. Bill Williams. We asked if he knew what happened to the music box and his eyes grew wide! He said "I'll be right back" and he darted backstage. When he returned, he explained how Taylor liked the music box and had placed it in his wardrobe case. He would go get it if we wanted it, but we thought if Mr. Soul Man needed this particular guitar, we could let it go, but we joked saying he sure owed us now! It looked like Bill was pretty relieved with our choice. July rolled around and Taylor's tour returned to the Branson area in Missouri. A few KOPS members planned to see this show as well. Since Karen is closest to the KC casino, she made a quick trip there to see if she could find another music box and there was a purple one! This find played "Heartbreak Hotel" (The first one played "Jail House Rock"-maybe that explains his "5 fingered discount").After the concert, when the guitar was unwrapped and shown to Taylor, Karen never let her hand leave it, which was good! Taylor put his hands around it and asked if it was for him! Thank goodness for Bill, he jumped in and said "No Taylor, we've already done the guitar thing". He remembered our previous "exchange" and knew he needed to make sure it didn't happen again! The autograph was delivered and the coveted trinket was safely packed away to be offered to the SP at a future date! Well here it is: ![]() It's about 9" by 4" and proudly displays Taylor's signature across the Elvis image. The winner of this gift will be in good company of music box owners- Taylor has one just about like it! If you would like to play St Hicks Picks, go to the KOPS site at www.kidonepatrolofsoul.com and click on Jolly Old St Hicks' smiling face. You'll be sent to the St Hicks Picks forum where you can pick the package you like. Keep watching for more fun things in St Hicks' goodie bag....there's lots more to come!! Soul Patrol!! |

Here's another peek in the St Hicks Goodie Bag!!! Alabama Beanie Babies!!! ![]() Taylor was so nice to sign a couple of these cuties for us. They both have his signature on their little "bums". (We're just happy he didn't keep these guys!) The Soul Patrol has sent a total of 3080 Beanie Babies to Kid One for the children of Alabama. As a reminder of the kindness Taylor's fans have shown, we asked him to sign these babies for us so we could offer them as prizes. This is the message from Ty about this retired bear: "Alabama the bear In memory of those who lost their homes, their loved ones, or their lives, as a result of Hurricane Katrina We extend our deepest sympathies Together we're a stronger nation." If you would like a chance to win one of these little fellas, go play St Hicks Picks today. Thank you! |
