MEDIABASE CHARTS The easiest guides to radioplay are the Mediabase charts. These are the reports that come from the monitored radio stations weekly and that drive the playlists and charts for the following week. TOP 40 HITS - TOP 500 SONGS HOT A/C - TOP 500 SONGS ADULT CONTEMPORARY - TOP 500 SONGS The number of spins listed is for the previous 7 days. Under "rank", lw = last week, tw = this week. Spins are also listed for tw (previous 7 days) and lw (7 days before that). "Move" is the difference between spins this week and last week (a positive number means more spins, a negative number means fewer). The aud/mil is a measure of how many million listeners are reached in the past week by the artist's songs. You can sort most of the columns if clicked. You can check Taylor's ranking easily by checking "artist name" and just scroll to his name and see all songs. Click on the artist name or song title, and you will get a list of "format leaders". A format leader is a station that has given 7 or more spins to the song in the previous week. QUICKCUT DATA Interested in how many spins a given artist has received? Check out the "quickcut" link at Mediabase. To use the link, put in artist name and specify "songs with airplay only". You should see a list of artist songs currently getting airplay. Then to find out how many spins in the past week, select "quickcut", then "rolling" (which means number of spins in the previous rolling 7 day period). That data is accessible to anyone. Under quickcut, you can see the number of weekly spins for the previous month in a variety of formats. In addition, you can see the total spins to date for a song on all formats. All other data from this format is available only with a Mediabase account. MEDIABASE QUICKCUT LINK |
