Taylor tweeted Friday evening: "Hope everyone has a great super bowl weekend!!" And he joined other celebrities making their predictions on the Super Bowl: Friday, Feb. 05, 2010 Celebrity Super Bowl picks Compiled by David Martindale Special to dfw.com Regis Philbin, talk show host (Live With Regis and Kelly): “It’s true what they all say about Peyton Manning. He really is the best and, in the second half, will start dissecting the Saints’ defense. The Saints started to run down after their 13-game win streak, looked a little ragged against the Vikings. Everyone is pulling for New Orleans — and so am I — but it’s the Colts.” Scott Turow, author (Presumed Innocent): “I take the Colts 34-31. My heart is with the Saints and I expect them to play better than vs. the Vikes. But Manning is the very best.” Taylor Hicks, singer/American Idol winner: “The Big Easy will feel the world’s happy embrace of a first Super Bowl win.” Bill Nye, science educator (Bill Nye, the Science Guy): “It’s more than Peyton vs. Brees. The Saints are playing for their fans, who are cheering like a hurricane. The ball is round but oblate, symmetrical but only biaxial — a funny shape that takes funny bounces. Spirited big plays will lift the Saints.” David Gregory, TV news anchor (Meet the Press): “Colts. As great a story for New Orleans as a Saints win would be, they played poorly at the end of the year and the Colts have momentum. Plus, they have shown they can keep coming back and picking apart their opponents.” Jimmy Fallon, talk show host (Late Night With Jimmy Fallon): “I predict the final score will be 45-31. The Saints will win and Charles Barkley will lose a million dollars.” Edward Asner, actor (The Mary Tyler Moore Show): “Colts. They’re friskier than the Saints, who have so much to think about. Besides, Peyton told me.” Alice Cooper, music legend (“School’s Out”): “Saints by three. They’re a grittier team and they have more momentum going into the game.” Jim Davis, cartoonist (Garfield): “Super Bowl Sunday is going to be a grand day for New Orleans. Yes, Isidore Newman’s very own Peyton Manning will bring glory to his New Orleans high school. Go, Colts!” Robert Crais, author (The Watchman): “Another air circus. 38-31 Saints. Manning is great, but so is Drew Brees. And the spirit is with the Saints. Who Dat Gonna Beat Dem Saints? Not the Colts.” Sendhil Ramamurthy, actor (Heroes): “Colts will win in an old-fashioned Texas shootout. No slight to Drew Brees, but if I can choose only one gunslinger, it’s going to be Peyton Manning. Plus, he‘s hilarious on Saturday Night Live, so I bet he keeps it loose in the huddle.” Cindy Margolis, model: “Colts will win. I have two reasons: No. 1, Peyton. No. 2, Manning. ’Nuff said. No brag, just fact. He’s the best ever.” Jake Pavelka, reality TV star (The Bachelor): “God bless those Dallas Cowboys, who just couldn’t quite shine as bright as that new stadium this season. Peyton Manning, however, will take some of the wind away from those Saints. 31-20 Colts.” Jared Fogle, Subway sandwich chain spokesman: “It’s gonna be a shootout for sure. Peyton Manning is a Super Bowl veteran now, so my Colts have the edge. Final score: Colts 31-21.” James Denton, actor (Desperate Housewives): “The Colts for a number of reasons, but here are two: The Colts scored 24 unanswered points on the No. 1 defense in football and the Saints gave up 475 yards and 31 first downs to the Vikings at home.” B.J. Thomas, singer (“Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”): “The Saints. Drew Brees is a Texas boy and a great quarterback — and New Orleans is a far better team.” Rex Linn, actor (CSI: Miami): “Colts 34-21. Peyton will probably know the Saints’ defense better than the Saints know themselves. I also predict somewhere between 2,000 and 4,000 audibles called by Peyton.” Terry Fator, ventriloquist: “Indianapolis is playing so well and Manning is truly a force to be reckoned with, but New Orleans seems to be the team of destiny. Sorry, Colts fans. There’s always next year.” Donald Faison, actor (Scrubs): “The Colts will win by seven.” Sheldon Turner, screenwriter (Up in the Air): “The Super Bowl is more than a football game and the Saints are more than a football team. They’re playing for pride and precedent — and football is about the intangibles that can’t be analyzed or appraised. Saints 27-21.” Luke Perry, actor (John From Cincinnati): “You don’t need psychic abilities of any kind to forecast this one: Peyton Manning hitting Dallas Clark over the middle, again and again. Indianapolis will get it done.” For more, go to: http://www.dfw.com/entertainment/story/232312.html I gotta go with him on this one...at least my heart does. New Orleans deserves the "world's happy embrace" and I think they will have that, no matter what the final score! Go, Saints! |

While it would make a great story if the Saints win the Super Bowl. I am of the opinion that the Colts will win. I have to go with experience over sentiment. Manning over Brees. Age over youth. I think the Colts are descending and this might be their last year of supremacy for a while. I think they know that and will guts it out over the more emotional Saints team. If I am wrong, I will not lose a million dollars like Charles Barkley, heck , I won't even lose a penny . I rarely bet money unless it is a sure thing and how many sure things are there in life..................... |

Soooo, not being a fan of either of these teams (or even knowing much about them, except that the Colts have a great team with Peyton Manning as their awesome quarterback) .... just knowing how hard the Saints must have worked all season to actually make it into the Super Bowl for the very first time makes me really happy for them!! What a thrill .. and what an upset! The Big Easy must be a very happy place right about now!! Congrats, Saints (and Saints Fans)!!!

While not a fan of either team, but favoring the Colts, I must give credit to THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS for their tenacity . CONGRATULATIONS. The Saints deserved to win. |

They hung in there like Alabama did in the Iron Bowl. Remember Auburn jumped out to a quick lead but Bama came back and won in the 4th quarter-only pulling away in the last 5 minutes or so- Guess the Saints took a lesson from Nick Saban eh? I'm glad they did. After Katrina New Orleans needed a shot in the arm- With Mardi Gras starting at the end of the month that place is gonna party for a while!!! Saints player Roman Harper is a local player-out of Prattville through Alabama-so there was a lot of local interest- Maybe Taylor's second career (perish the thought!) is as a sports analyst???? |

I think Taylor would love to be a sportscaster ........... Color commentary doing SEC games If he did that, he would never have to choose between Alabama and Auburn, as he has to remain neutral !!!! |
